Lessons Learned in the Studio

  1. Be yourself. Don’t accept any production style that you’re not comfortable with
  2. Always rest before going into the studio
  3. Drink lots of water
  4. Lays potato chips help to make the vocals smooth (you only need to eat two or 3)
  5. If your producer asks for an example of your style, don’t send an example of music that you wish you could do, but send him music that expresses your best music style
  6. When traveling, turn the hot water on in the hotel bathroom to add moisture to your hotel room for your voice
  7.  If you’re not comfortable with your vocals, record them again.
  8. Don’t let a line or word pass, just because your engineer says it sounds fine.
  9. Practice, practice, practice your song until it feels smooth for you, before your scheduled studio date
